I didn't know I have neglected this space so much till I saw the date I last posted. Seems like it was just yesterday when 2013 just started and you are telling me next week's February?
Been really busy and hectic at both the work and personal front and sometimes I just wish we have 48 hours a day.
Anyway, Chinese New Year (CNY) is just around the corner in 2 weeks' time and since young, we have this habit of wearing new clothes for the festive season, although the hub joked that at the rate I'm buying clothes, every month's CNY. Even though I don't have a lot of shopping time these days, I still managed to get these 2 very beautiful and rather unique pieces while out with my Mum one day. I must confess that I'm not into yellow on most days but this linen/cotton yellow dress (right) from Armani Exchange has a really flattering cut. I intend to pair this with my newly bought grey Cole Haan pumps to tone down the brightness, although I think it would look really great with a pair of bright red pumps too. Many ways to wear this for different looks. It looks really casual on its own and it's perfect for a weekend outing or even a trip to a beach resort. But it can also be good enough if paired with a light grey jacket for casual Fridays at work.
The piece on the left is a rather structured dress in gold hues from Max & Co., one of my favourite brands though I don't own many pieces cos of the ahem... price tag. But I can assure you that Max & Co. dresses are made of really good quality and they are made to last if you take good care of them. I like it that the gold is not too in your face and it compliments our Asian skin tone really well. It doesn't make you look too pale or yellowish. Looks even better when paired with a belt. I haven't really thought of the shoes to go with though. My first instinct would be to suggest nude pumps but it seems too safe and unexciting. Hope to have a eureka moment with the shoes before CNY hits.
That's all for now and enjoy the Saturday, folks!
