Art & Literature
" 'And how many hours a day did you do lessons?' said Alice, in a hurry to change the subject.
'Ten hours the first day,' said the Mock Turtle. 'nine the next, and so on.'
'What a curious plan!' exclaimed Alice.
'That's the reason they're called lessons,' the Gryphon remarked: 'because they lessen from day to day.'"
Love this part of the story to bits. Made me laugh so hard on a Saturday morning. Couldn't resist the temptation to get this publication of Alice with Yayoi Kusama's illustration. Frankly, I was not aware of the existence of Kusama until her recent collaboration with Marc Jacob for LV's new collection. After doing some research on her, I realised that she is as strong a person as she is weak. She has gone through a lot in her life and I like the fact that despite being 83, she is still contributing so actively to the art scene when others would have given up. But then again, art is the only thing worth living for in her life. I guess everyone of us must find a compelling reason for our existence, otherwise, it would be hard to carry on. Afterall, none of us has the good fortune to be residents of Wonderland, though I wouldn't have minded, especially for the quote above ;)
Have a great weekend!
