Min Jiang @ Rochester Park

I finally found my way to Rochester Park. Went to have dim sum brunch at Min Jiang today. The selection of dim sim is limited but I must say they've got some interesting selection. The prawns and scallops used in the dumplings were very fresh and succulent to the bite. Besides the usual dim sum menu, the restaurant also offer a Shanghainess dim sum selection that includes the pan fried onion pancake (which we tried). Between the 2 of us, we had 6 dishes and desserts. The dessert selection was good. I had some chrysanthemum jelly topped with blueberries and raspberries (good sources of antioxidant), which is rather refreshing and soothing to the throat. The other dessert we ordered was durian pudding with fried mango springroll. The durian pudding was uber rich and creamy. Feels as if one is really eating durian as it is. I like the fried mango springroll though; it has a sweet and tangy taste to it. After today, I am determined to make another trip to Min Jiang to try their famed Peking Duck. It looks really mouthwatering and delicious. Advanced reservation is recommended, else you would have to wait up till one hour for the duck to be ready. Prices at Min Jiang is above average but for the quality of food and ambience of the place, I would say it is value for money. Expect to pay around S$30 per person for dim sum.
