I first visited HK more than 10 years ago and liked it because it resembles so much like Singapore.
It is a good destination for a family holiday as there is something for everyone.
And at this time of the year, the weather is fantastic - cool but not too cold.
We spent the past 6 days in food organsm; going 'ooh' and 'aah' everything we take a bite of the char siew bao or the siew mai or the wanton.
We indulged in multiple meals, going for impromptu tea and supper whenever we spotted anything interesting.
I love the cheap and good comfort food served at the ubiquitous cha can teng. The hub couldn't understand nor appreciate my love for a bowl of hot macaroni soup every morning.
Though food was good, the attitude of many of the service staff at the restaurants was rather brusque. And it certainly doesn't help that we don't speak good cantonese. Having said that, we have also come across cheeky waiters who popped into our picture while we were taking a family photo. :)
Agnes b cafe, when are you coming to Singapore?
And who could resist a box of macarons from the world famous Pierre Herme? Not me.
The much desired char siew bun and dim sum from Tim Ho Wan. Since I do not fancy queueing up for the Tim Ho Wan dim sum in Singapore, I ordered almost everything on the menu. *smirks*
If you were to discuss food in HK with fellow Singaporeans, all will say that the roast cuts at Yung Kee is a must-try. Not a lover of goose, I actually enjoyed their roast goose the most. Prices are not cheap though.
Since we can't eat 24 hrs a day, we obviously did some sight-seeing. At the request of my MIL, we visited Noah's Ark. Yes, you heard me right. This is the Noah's Ark theme park located at the Ma Wan district.
Clowning around with the activities and costumes to entertain myself and to make the most out of the visit.
We also visited the peak and took it all the view and fresher air at the summit.
HK is a great place to just relax, chill and people-watch. We hope to back for a short trip sans sightseeing soon. :)
