Airplane Food

I love travelling but I've never been a fan of airplane food.
But because I needed to check out some shops at Haji Lane this afternoon, we took the opportunity to visit Sushi Airways for brunch. The whole restaurant was designed like an airplane cabin, albeit an outdated one.

Between the both of us, we shared a lobster mango maki (the most expensive item we ordered today but the most delicious as well)

A yam ramen set (according to the chef, such handmade yam ramen are rather rare here)

A juicy soft shell crab platter that was deep fried to perfection

And kurobuta tonkatsu, which unfortunately although well-executed, was a little too fat for my liking.

It was a quiet Sunday for the restaurant but we had no complaints. Because we were the only customers at the time, the chef, a friendly and sincere chap was able to chat with us a little at the end of the meal, telling us more about the ingredients he used for the dishes.

With the prices we are paying, we shouldn't be expecting all ingredients to be imported from Japan. Although it is no GOTO, Sushi Airways is definitely worth a try for all the Nippon-philes out there.
