Ciao Bella Ciao

Before we went to church for today's father's day service, we explored one of the 'new kids in the block' - Pasarbella.
It was heaven on earth, with the plethora of imported produce, artisanal food items and other interesting stuff.

Our main purpose there: brunch.
It was good that we arrived a little shy of noon and managed to kinda escape the lunch time crowd.
Our first stop: seafood paella.
I used to always look out for that one paella stall at the weekend market near my place when studying in paris. Then, it was a treat and I treasured every single grain in the box.
I haven't had this for a long time and am really happy that someone had this brilliant idea of bringing paella into this 'farmers' market'!

I couldn't resist the freshly shucked coffin bay oysters as well. The oysters were briny and succulent!

And to top it all off, we had these bamboo clams and mussels as well. The stall provides a boiling service for all the seafood bought and it comes with a nice sambal dip as well.
We were strategically seated near the entrance to this seafood section of pasarbella and everyone who walked past looked at our seafood with much envy, with quite a few even asking their partners, "Shall we have this too?"

There is also a japanese arm to this seafood section where they serve sashimi and sushi. We didn't have the stomach to try those though. But it was real cool as it reminded us of the fish markets you could find in Japan!

The food at Pasarbella ain't exactly cheap, but for the quality, experience and ambience, it is well worth every cent of mine. I will be back again for sure ;)
I'm really excited that Singapore is getting more and more interesting!
Meanwhile, ciao! and Happy Father's Day to all!
