The Bard in the Park

Shakespear  in the Park presents Othello. We weren't familiar with the story but the synopsis was so well-written that it made the plot easy to follow. It was also good that the storyline was tight and that helped to captivate the audience with never a dull moment. The picnic before the evening show made the entire experience more romantic for us.

To be honest, I didn't expect the turnout to be so darn good. I had a rude shock when I saw how long the queue was when we were queueing to get into the park. It was a sold-out performance yesterday night. Looks like the CQ of Singaporeans has raised several notches.

It rained quite heavily in the day and that got us a little worried. But it's actually a blessing in disguise as the morning rain helped to bring down the temperature and humidity and made it comfortable for us to have a glass of wine in the outdoors of Singapore. Rare.

The final bow. I got to know of another of The Bard's work without having to plough through the old english. After so long, the plots of Shakespear's stories still remain relevant. It's truly evergreen and never outdated. It is human nature to be susceptible to jealousy, envy, greed and love. One can never go wrong with such themes.

It was quite a slow sunday for us but somehow we were still tired. Hope you have enjoyed the weekend and are looking forward to the mid-week break. 48 hours to Labour Day! Can't wait!
