To be exact, we went to the Night Safari (the first and only one in the world!) and it was my first time there. The safari is one of Singapore's pride and a must stop for many tourists. I had looked forward to the trip but the experience was only comme ci comme ca.
For one, there weren't a lot of interesting animals. The leopard enclosure was closed for upgrading and there was only one miserable Malayan tiger parading around. The most interesting thing for the night would be the feeding of the lions. Even then, it seemed as if the lions were all putting up a show. We were expecting some really exciting action and thought they would fight for the food. But in true blue Singaporean fashion, they seemed to be 'queueing' up and taking turns to feed. And then the zookeepers let in that the feed wasn't their main meal, and it's more like a snack. I guess they weren't feeling hungry at all!
Ironically, the day was made more interesting not by the animals but by my colleagues' kids. I had a great time talking to them. There were so many of them running around during dinner time and here is little Megan in her newly bought white tiger hat!
We went back without watching the animal show. I figured it wasn't worth my time after all. I rather spend the time on my beauty sleep. It has been a long and tiring week. Zzzzz....
